PewDiePie, Racial Slurs, And Video Games
The Game Fanatics | September 13, 2017
WARNING: THIS ARTICLE CONTAINS STRONG LANGUAGE AND WORDS OF HATE || Felix Kjellberg (PewDiePie) is the richest YouTuber on the planet. He has an audience of over 57 million people and a strong influence on the gaming community. Yet, he has mishandled that influence by promoting hate, bigotry, and ignorance, and some people are finally fed up. And quite frankly I am too.
Fusing Metroids: Crafting The Best Metroid Game
Game Informer | December 14, 2012
With the Wii U out in full effect, it’s only a matter of time before some of Nintendo’s longstanding franchises make the overdue jump into glorious HD. Metroid is an excellent series that features my favorite female protagonist: Samus Aran. Before the Nintendo delivers the goods on the inevitable next Metroid, here are some guidelines on making the game the best it can be.
Donut County Hands-On Preview | Holey Moley
The Game Fanatics | December 21, 2017
One of the industry’s best qualities is that a strange premise can make a great game. Super Smash Bros., Kingdom Hearts, and Katamari Damacy are all concepts that sound odd on paper but have created critically acclaimed franchises. Donut County has the potential to be such a title. It is a weird idea about a Racoon unleashing a remote-controlled hole in the ground that swallows up any and everything in its path.
The Banner Saga 2 Review: Marching In The Right Direction
XBLA Fans | July 5, 2016
The Banner Saga concluded on a life-and-death decision, and now Stoic has returned to the Norse world of humans, Varl and Dredge where the only certainty is death. This sophomore effort picks up right where the action ended. Things have gone to the depths, and your decision-making abilities will be pushed until you’re questioning everyone’s motives, even your own. Between war tactics and keeping the morale high, this tactical RPG successfully moves the caravan in the right direction.

With such a rich heritage, I spent quite some time coming up a list of the best Pocket Monsters. These selections are not just the best in the game series. It takes into account the anime and complete Pokémon lore, which is built on more than 15 years of history and has spawned millions of fans across the globe. Of all the 649 unique creatures fans have to collect, this is the top 50 Pokémon of all time.

When you experience a game or genre for the first time it is new and exciting. I believe that this is like a spark – a sensation of euphoria that comes from the story, gameplay, or tone of the game. I have often felt that special quality was being lost under the formulaic trend of mainstream titles, but I began to wonder – is it just me?
Casting the Live Action Sonic The Hedgehog Movie
The Game Fanatics | August 20, 2018
The next victim on the Hollywood hit list of live-action video game adaptations is Sonic The Hedgehog. A series I’ve grown up with and still adore, as much as I can within reason, to this day. The plot is something about Sonic being a bad boy, befriending a cop, and then a slew of fast pace antics occur. It will star James Marsden and Tika Sumpter as the male and female lead. And possibly feature Jim Carrey as Dr. Robotnik.
The Galarian Forms Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield Need
The Game Fanatics | August 27, 2019
Galarian Forms are officially confirmed for Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield. Game Freak showcased Galarian Weezing sporting a dashing mustache and tophat combo, and Galarian Zigzagoon wearing his best Kiss concert makeup. Breaking the “only Kantonian Pokémon get regional forms” trend that Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon started. Along with introducing regional variant only evolutions with Obstagoon.
We Happy Few Preview: Make A Joyful Noise
XBLA Fans | May 9, 2016
Have you ever had a very realistic dream that you couldn’t wake up from? One where everything seemed normal, but you just couldn’t shake the shivering feeling that something was off. When you suddenly realize you can’t wake up, the fear creeps into every corner of your mind because you’re actually trapped in a nightmare. It’s something many people have described going through, and though I’ve never experienced it myself, Compulsion Games’ We Happy Few is the closest I’ve gotten to the sensation.
